The following comes from, “Think Like A Champion,” by Mike Shanahan:
Throughout history, all winners have encountered crusting defeats before claiming ultimate victory. In the end, they persevered, not allow their defeats to keep them down or hold them back.
Before you can enjoy life, you must accept this basic tenet: Life isn’t fair.
I’m sure you’ve heard that adversity builds character and strength. These are, in my mind, the two most important components of persevering.
When you have a failure, it is important to give your opposition the most credit. They beat you. But you also must remember the feeling, and remember how miserable it is, so you can ask yourself, as I repeatedly did, “What can you do to make sure this doesn’t every happen again?”
