THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM COACH (#15)

I would challenge anyone to remember a time that they've seen Coach Meyer without his planner in hand. He has developed a system of organization and passed it down to so many coaches. Our profession demands that we prioritize our activities in order to best fit the needs of not just our team but the other important phases of our life.

I would also challenge anyone that has heard Coach speak that didn't get his PLANNING TIPS:

#1 Plan your week on Sunday...critical for a weekly blueprint.

#2 Plan the next day the night before...more detailed.

#3 Exercise...keep your energy level.

#4 Learn to say "no"...you can't tackle every project.

#5 Take mini vacations...long vacations get you backed up

#6 Keep a journal...not on what you did but what you learned.

All of these are timeless and critically important...I live and die by the first two but is was "Keep a journal" that I first learned about from Coach that has really helped me. I keep a journal with me at all times in by briefcase and it is almost therapeutic to jot down a daily lesson. Writing it down also helps it stick with me a little longer as well.
