If you've ever heard Coach Meyer speak, chances are he touched on the 3 THINGS YOU HAVE TO DO IN LIFE. 1. Find your unique gift or talent
2. Develop your unique gift or talent
3. Give your gift away.
All three of those are equally important but Coach has put them in the only order that you can in order to accomplish all three. Sometimes it takes a lifetime alone to figure out your gift. As a coach, if you are truly passionate about it and your resolve is to effect young people than you have a special gift that you can give away in a variety of ways each year you coach. Not just to your players, but to the school in which you work and the community in which you can involve your team.
It is obvious to all of us that have came in contact with Coach Myer that he realized his gift early on. As you see him study the game, talk basketball with others, take notes at clinics, you know that even today he still developing his gift. And we as coaches can be truly thankful that many years ago he decided to give his gift way to us -- over and over and over!
