BOB McKILLOP: THOUGHTS ON MOMENTUM, SCRIMMAGING AND SHOOTING
Here are some random basketball thoughts from Davidson head coach Bob McKillop:
Big Moment in a game
1. Get the last shot of every quarter
2. Affects momentum
3. Finish first half strong and start second half strong
4. Do not let them get the last shot. Trap them if necessary. Run and jump them
Scrimmage
1. Always start a scrimmage with a free throw situation
2. Always sub after a made FT to set up your defense and to slow them down.
Bolts Of Lightning -- When you make a three point shot, hunt the three on the next possession.
1. Builds confidence
2. If you can knock it in, it is very deflating for the opponent.
License to Shoot
1. New drivers have restrictions
2. Drivers License
3. Some players have a restrictive license to shoot
4. Where can you shoot, where can you drive
