NAVY SEAL LESSON ON THE LACROSSE FIELD

If you follow me on twitter, as well as read my blogs, you already know how much I have enjoyed and took from the book "Damn Few" by Rorke Denver, former Head of Basic and Advanced SEAL Training.  It is an amazing book about the sacrifice, commitment, and passion of our nation's very best -- the Navy Seals.

Part of the book deals with Denver's thoughts on where you could find possible SEAL recruits and of course on area was athletes.  Denver himself play lacrosse at Syracuse under the legendary Roy Simmons, Jr.

I thought one of the most telling parts of Denver's lacrosse experience comes a major lesson he learned under Coach Simmons:

"Coach Simmons taught us many things.
None was more important than
an utter disdain for mediocrity."
