WHAT ARE YOU READING TODAY

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: "The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it." ~James Bryce

I love to read!  Books, magazines, blogs, anything.  I think what success I've had in coaching and life must be somewhat linked to my habit of reading. Or as Charlie "Tremendous" Jones once said:

"You're the same today as you'll be in five years except for the people you meet and the books you read."

For fun, I'm leaving the comment box open to this post and would love for everyone to post what book are you currently reading at this very moment. Just check on below where it says "comment."

I just finished last night reading "Rex Ryan: Play Like You Mean It" by Rex and Don Yaeger. Was entertaining but also gave some great coaching insights as well.

I'm reading Through My Eyes - Tim Tebow. Great insight to his life, leadership, faith, and competitiveness.

"The Mentor Leader" by Tony Dungy. Not quite half-way through the book, but have gotten some great ideas on how to be a better leader for our team.

The Man Watching is the biography of Anson Dorrance from UNC Women's Soccer. I just started it and have had my nose in the book nearly every second I can manage. The coach is certainly an interesting character and an extraordinary winner!

The Class of Football, by Adam Schefter. Hall of Fame speeches, great insight into what made these players great. Highly recommend.

A book I am interested in is Management Secrets of the New England Patriots by James Lavin. This morning I read parts of the free preview.

Alan Stein's blog is always a winner...Joey loved "A Leader's Legacy" and you will love the "Management Secrets" books as well. Doug, "The Mentor Leader" was a tremendous book should be read by anyone want to improve their leadership skills. I need to get "The Man Watching" -- watched Anson Dorrance and it was easy to see why he is so successful.
